Since it was revealed at the 2018 Game Awards back in December, Ed Boon and NetherRealm Studios have been revealing gameplay footage and bits of the roster in a bit of a slow burn.

In the reveal trailer, we saw Raiden and Scorpion, and a preview of the upcoming boss, Kronika. We also saw that Shao Kahn would be available as a pre-order bonus and eventual DLC to those who didn't buy into Mortal Kombat 11 early.

At the reveal event last month, we also saw the return of Sonya Blade, Baraka, Sub-Zero, and Skarlet, as well as a new character, Geras, the right hand of Kronika. Though he wasn't "officially revealed," Liu Kang was also spotted in some gameplay footage.

Last week, the Black Dragon leader Kano was added to the roster. Today, his former ally, Kabal, got his own gameplay trailer. During today's Kombat Kast, we saw the former police officer in action.

Kabal is updated this time around, sporting a new mask and some younger hair. The respirator wearing mercenary is as quick and deadly as ever and is really getting a lot of mileage out of those hookswords.

Kabal faces off against Sub-Zero, Sonya Blade, and Baraka in the latest trailer, even showing off some great stage interactions before disposing of Sub-Zero with a gruesome Fatality.

Kabal isn't the only one making a return, as Mortal Kombat X favorite D'Vorah will be bringing the swarm in MK 11. Ed Boon revealed that she'd be joining the roster during February's Inside Xbox stream, though we didn't get any gameplay footage of her.

During the Kombat Kast, Boon teased the first guest character for the game as well, stating that fans will freak out. He never revealed who it was, though, but if previous rumors are to be believed, it very well could be Spawn.

Mortal Kombat 11 releases on April 23rd for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Microsoft Windows.
