Final Fantasy 16 gets a surprise Xbox release at Xbox Games Showcase 2025

One of the most iconic, or in this case, Eikonic, pieces of news from the Xbox Games Showcase 2025 was the fact that Final Fantasy 16 finally got a release on the platform on June 8, 2025. Xbox players will finally be able to enjoy Clive's journey through the realm of Valisthea on their favorite platform, as the game, alongside all its DLCs, has been released.

Besides Final Fantasy 16, Square Enix has also announced that it will bring Final Fantasy 7 Remake Integrade to the platform later this year.

Final Fantasy 16 is now available on Xbox Series X|S after a surprise announcement during the Xbox Games Showcase 2025

2 years have passed since PlayStation players embarked on a journey across Valisthea as Clive Rosfield. Last year, in 2024, Square Enix finally released Final Fantasy 16 for the PC, bringing the epic adventure to a set of new fans. Today, on 8 June 2025, in an Eikonic turn of events, the game has finally been made available on the Xbox Series X/S consoles.

Xbox fans can finally partake in the epic journey of Clive and his comrades to free Valisthea from the clutches of magic and the Eikons. Similar to its PC and PS5 counterparts, two editions of the game are available. The standard edition will only give you the base story, while the complete edition will add the two story expansions: The Rising Tide and Echoes of the Fallen.

Purchasing any version will also make you eligible for a few bonus rewards:

• Braveheart Sword
• Brave Blade
• Cait Sith’s Charm
• Sixteen Bells Orchestrion

The game also comes with cross progression, as you will be able to play freely on any device you want, whether it's your Xbox or your PC. Besides FF16, Square Enix also plans on bringing the first part of the FF7 Remake series to Microsoft's consoles in the winter of 2025. It is still unknown when Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will be available for the Xbox.
