Grounded 2 preview release date officially announced at Xbox Games Showcase 2025

Grounded 2 is officially slated for release in Early Access and Game Preview on Steam and Xbox on July 29, 2025. The game was announced at the Xbox Games Showcase 2025 with a magnificent new trailer, taking us back into the lives of teens shrunken down to the size of tiny bugs.

Trapped in a mysterious backyard filled with ants, grasshoppers, and other terrifying insects, you must find your way back to safety. Grounded 2 is a direct sequel to the original 2022 game of the same name. Read on to find out more about this upcoming Obsidian Entertainment game.

Grounded 2 gets a new trailer and early access date at the Xbox Games Showcase 2025

The Xbox Games Showcase is ongoing as of the time of writing on June 8, 2025. Grounded 2's announcement was perhaps one of the most exciting ones after the first game received a warm reception from fans back in 2022.

The new trailer shows improved visuals and the same co-operative gameplay story that made the first title so entertaining. The story of Grounded 2 is set several years after the events of the first game.

The original story follows four teens who get shrunken and are trapped in the yard of the scientist Dr. Wendell Tully, who invented the shrinking machine, i.e., the SPAC.R.. To get out, you must first find the scattered pieces of the machine and return to your normal size.

Players can look forward to the title's Early Access on Steam and Game Preview on Xbox Series X/S on July 29, 2025.
