PUBG Mobile announces first Metro Royale esports tournament 

Level Infinite officially announced the first esports tournament in the Metro Royale mode of PUBG Mobile. This event is set to be played in Southeast Asia and has been named PUBG Mobile Super League (PMSL) Metro Royale SEA. This tournament is different from the PMSL SEA esports event which is hosted in the Battle Royale mode.

During the PUBG Mobile World Cup 2024 (PMWC) Finale, the publisher officially introduced the Metro Royale esports. After the Metro mode's massive success, the company decided to host its esports tournaments. In July 2024, they released a new season of this mode during the game 3.3 update.

First PUBG Mobile Metro Royale esports event to kick off on August 10

The first esports tournament featuring the Metro Royale mode is all set to begin on August 10, 2024. The Open Qualifiers for the PMSL Metro Royale SEA will be played across two days with one team each from Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand moving to the main event.

The publisher has invited nine teams directly to the main event which will be held in two phases: Group Stage and Finals. These 12 teams will be divided into four groups for the initial stage, where they will compete in a round-robin structure.

The Group Stage will run from August 17 to September 1, 2024. The top six teams will progress to the Grand Finals, which is scheduled on September 7, 2024. The publisher has not yet the total prize money for this Metro Royale tournament.

Scoring System for PMSL Metro Royale SEA

• Loot Value: Total value of match excluding loadout
• Player Elimination: 300,000 points will be awarded for each kill.
