Announced out of the blue, Splatoon Raiders is an all-new spin-off game headed to Nintendo Switch 2. First announced via the official Nintendo Today! app, it is a new adventure taking players to a mysterious island to unravel a new anomaly. Additionally, the latest mainline series entry, Splatoon 3, is getting a bunch of updates for both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 users.

This new Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive entry lets players take on the role of a mechanic visiting the Spirhalite Islands. They won't be alone, however, as the beloved Deep Cut trio of NPCs from Splatoon 3, starring Shviver, Frye, and Big Man, will accompany them on this journey.
What discoveries will they make? We do not know yet, as the trailer is light on details. That said, it does seem to be an area like nothing before, with a lot of land exploration in tow. Nintendo has confirmed that more details will be shared in the future about Splatoon Raiders.

Splatoon 3 update details explored
That isn't all, as a new update is headed to Splatoon 3, the fast-paced, inky third-person shooter for the Nintendo Switch. Here is a rundown:
- The Splatlands weapon collection features new weapons from the Barazushi and Emberz brands. New designs, as well as sub and special weapons, are included for a total of 30 new weapon kits.
- Urchin Underpass stage returns from the original Nintendo Wii U game and will be added to the stage rotation.
- Increased Weapon Freshness caps.
- New in-game Badges to earn.
- A new weapon stat called Series Weapon Power will be added to Anarchy Battle (Series), which keeps track of player weapon effectiveness based on their win & loss ratio in matches.
Lastly, Nintendo Switch 2 users will get improved graphics and performance in Splatoon 3, which increases the frame rate in hub areas. To top it off, there will be full matchmaking compatibility with Nintendo Switch players for online and local gameplay. The update will be available for free to all users on June 12, 2025.
