Overwatch 2 Junkenstein’s Revenge game mode explained
Overwatch 2 Junkenstein’s Revenge features
Overwatch 2 Junkenstein’s Revenge is a co-op mission where you need to defend the Adlersbrunn Castle gate as a team of four. It is a defend-the-objective type game mode available in four difficulties, namely normal, hard, expert, and legendary.
The main objective of the mode is to clear the continuously spawning waves of enemies that will try to break down the castle door. In between each wave, Dr. Junkenstein will send his villains from his team (as mini-bosses) and finally appear himself. The villains will spawn in the following order:
- The Reaper
- Junkenstein’s Monster
- The Summoner
- Dr. Junkenstein
After Dr. Junkenstein has been killed for the first time, you will have to clear another wave of enemies before the arrival of The Witch. The Witch herself will not fight, but rather revive Dr. Junkenstein and the three other villains simultaneously. The mission ends once all four of the villains, including Dr. Junkenstein, have been killed.

Overwatch 2 Junkenstein’s Revenge: Best Heroes to play
Overwatch 2 Junkenstein’s Revenge game mode features only Damage and Support Heroes. The available Heroes in the game mode are as follows:
Damage:
- Ashe
- Cassidy
- Genji
- Hanzo
- Soldier: 76
- Torbjorn
- Tracer
- Widowmaker
Support:
- Ana
- Baptiste
- Brigitte
- Zenyatta
The best combination of Heroes for this game mode would be three Damage Heroes and one Support Hero.
Torbjorn is arguably the best Hero for this game mode. His Deploy Turret is incredibly useful in clearing the enemy waves. He, in fact, charges up his ultimate, Molten Core, very quickly which helps him stop the enemies right at the spawn locations.
Cassidy should be the second choice for Damage Hero in Junkenstein’s Revenge. His incredibly fast and precise primary weapon is great for crowd control, and his ultimate Deadeye, can deal massive damage to the bosses.
Coming to the final Damage Hero, we need someone who can shoot at long ranges, and who better to do it than Widowmaker. She can reach places where others cannot and keep shooting from the back lines all the while being safe. Her Venom Mines are also incredibly useful as they can be placed near the enemy spawn locations and will always provide value because of the enemy’s predictable movement.
To complete your team composition, your go-to choice for Support Hero should be Ana. Firstly, her primary weapon is for long ranges which will keep her away from danger. Moreover, her ultimate Nano Boost can be extremely useful against bosses, especially when paired with Cassidy’s Deadeye.
