After a lot of controversy surrounding Pokemon Sword and Shield, where Game Freak decided that there would be no National Dex and set the limit of Pokemon at 400, data miners have uncovered something quite unexpected.
It seems that there are 35 Pokemon that were added to Sword and Shield whose files were found in the game. Here is the list of Pokemon that are not currently in the Galar Dex but are present in Sword and Shield's files:
- Bulbasaur
- Ivysaur
- Venasaur
- Squirtle
- Wartortle
- Blastoise
- Rowlett
- Dartrix
- Decidueye
- Litten
- Torracat
- Incineroar
- Popplio
- Brionne
- Primarina
- Mewtwo
- Mew
- Celebi
- Jirachi
- Cobalion
- Terrakion
- Virizion
- Keldeo
- Reshiram
- Zekrom
- Kyurem
- Cosmog
- Cosmoem
- Lunala
- Solgaleo
- Necrozma
- Marshadow
- Zeraora
- Meltan
- Melmetal
It looks like the Kanto and Alolan starters will be featured, along with Black and White's Legendaries as well as the title Pokemon of Sun/Moon and a couple of Ultra-Beasts. Meltan and Melmetal were only available in Pokemon GO and Pokemon Let's Go: Eevee and Pikachu, so it's surprising to see they've been introduced so late.

It looks as though Game Freak is capable of adding different high-quality Pokemon models into Sword and Shield, and we can only hope that they slowly add the National Dex into the game.
