Although Tencent Games and PUBG Corporation's PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Mobile was beta testing the Payload Mode since September 2019 and it was mentioned to be part of 0.15.0 update in its patch notes, it did not roll out with the update on October 16, 2019. While fans took to social media, including Twitter, to express their desire to operate the helicopters in the Payload Mode, PUBG Mobile has only finally rolled out the new EvoGround gaming mode on October 23, 2019.
Helicopters in PUBG Mobile Payload Mode
Helicopters in the new Payload Mode have been grabbing the attention of fans since the time it was out on the beta version. The choppers will be seen exclusively in the Payload Mode and are the first form of aircraft in the game that will fly players across Erangel.
When players jump off helicopters mid-air from higher altitudes, a parachute will get deployed for their safe landing and the vehicle would descend automatically, however, falling off from a lower altitude might cause damage. Players will be able to refuel helicopters with the regular red-coloured fuel canisters on the go but will have to land to repair the vehicle with a repair kit. PUBG Mobile's official Twitter account on October 24, 2019, tweeted:
Helicopter spawn locations in Payload Mode
Helicopters spawn at multiple locations in Erangel in the Payload Mode. While Mylta power hosts helicopters at two locations (one in the factory and one at the main helipad almost at the heart of the POI), Sonsovka Military Base hosts helicopters at three spots parallelly. Here's a complete list of locations at which helicopters could be seen to be spawning in the new Payload Mode:
- Military Base
- Mylta Power
