The sixth edition of the Taiwan Excellence Gaming Cup is all set to take place this year. The event will be returning to Mumbai in September. This year, the event is all set to grow even bigger with the games in the tournament consisting of PUBG as well apart from the regular CS: GO and Dota 2. The winner of the CS: GO tournament will compete in the Taiwan Excellence Esports Cup 2019 held in Taiwan.

The event is making a comeback after being a huge success last year. Last year we witnessed Entity Gaming lifting the trophy for the CS: GO tournament while Team Signify took home the Dota 2 trophy. This year, the prize pool for the Dota 2 and CS: GO events are ₹₹5 lakh each, making the total prize pool a hefty ₹10 lakh.

As far as PUBG Mobile is concerned, prize goodies worth 50,000 INR have been announced for the same. For the CS: GO and Dota 2 tournaments, the winners will get a total cash prize of 2 lakh rupees, runner up will get 1 lakh rupees, 3rd and 4th place 50k rupees each and 5th-8th place 25k each.

Tournament Format

The tournament will follow a similar format as compared to last year. Dota & CS: GO will have online qualifiers. Dota 2 will have a total of 16 teams competing in the main event which will be selected from two online qualifiers, each selecting a total of eight teams. CS: GO on the other hand will get 4 teams from the online qualifiers, two from each, and the rest of the 12 teams will be selected from the offline LAN Qualifiers which will be held throughout the country.

The two online qualifiers will be held between 12th to 18th August and 26th August to 1st September respectively. The playoffs will be held from 4th to 6th September. Eight teams from each of the playoffs will make it to the LAN finale. The LAN finale will be held in Mumbai on the 27th and 28th of September.

As far as PUBG is concerned, a total of 40 games will be held over a period of 20 days. The games will be held thrice a week. Winner of each game will be awarded a prize.
