The start of something big
Keighley is the creator of The Game Awards, which launched in 2014. Since then, that event has grown into one of the biggest livestreamed shows in gaming — in 2023 alone, it amassed over 118 million views.
But The Game Awards wasn’t his only brainchild. He’s also the mind behind Summer Game Fest, which he launched to give fans something to look forward to when E3 began fading out. On top of that, he’s produced Opening Night Live for Gamescom and worked with many publishers to ensure fans get direct updates about their favorite games.

A background rooted in games
Before these shows, Keighley used to host GameTrailers TV and write for sites like Kotaku. His Final Hours project gave readers behind-the-scenes insights into how major games were developed, including interviews with developers working on titles like Portal, Tomb Raider, and Mass Effect.
Whether it’s writing, producing, or hosting, Keighley has been consistent about one thing — focusing on the games and the people behind them.
