In the last match of the league phase of a very entertaining BPL 2019 tournament, Dhaka Dynamites take on the Khulna Titans with the sole objective of winning the match and going ahead to the play-off matches which will be played from Monday. While Dhaka boast of a superior NRR over the Kings, they should feel confident with Khulna not able to get going in the tournament at any particular time.
But it is only when teams have nothing to lose, come up with their best and with the likes of Mahmadullah and Dawid Malan in their ranks, it wouldn't be easy by any means for the Dynamites to please their home fans and walk out with a win.
Squads to choose from:
Shakib Al Hasan(C), Sunil Narine, Rony Talukdar, Kieron Pollard, Rovman Powell, Hazratullah Zazai, Andrew Birch, Andre Russell, Rubel Hossain, Nurul Hasan, Shuvagata Hom, Ian Bell, Qazi Onik, Asif Hasan, Mohammad Naim
Mahmudullah, Ariful Haque, Carlos Brathwaite, Nazmul Hossain Shanto, Dawid Malan, Jahurul Islam, Shariful Islam, Taijul Islam, Al-Amin, Zahir Khan, Brendan Taylor, Sherfane Rutherford, Subashis Roy, Junaid Siddique, Mahidul Islam Ankon, Tanvir Islam, Lasith Malinga, Yasir Shah and Paul Stirling
Playing XI Updates:
Dhaka haven't done much wrong in their previous matches with them not capitalizing on the opponent's mistakes. Individually, Dhaka is one of the best teams on paper but haven't yet gelled as a unit with Shakib being the lone warrior with both bat and ball. Much is expected of Andre Russell and Sunil Narine, who have impressed only in patches.
Possible XI: Rony, Narine, Nurul (WK), Mizanur, Shakib, Russell, Pollard, Birch, Rubel, Hom and Mahmudul.
With nothing to lose for the Titans, they could opportunities to young players who could use it to showcase their talents on a bigger scale. Shariful Islam, who was recalled to the side in the previous game, impressed initially before Evin Lewis began his six hitting brigade. The likes of Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Ariful Haque haven't performed to expectations and with this being the last time they might even play for Khulna, it is an ample opportunity for them to showcase their prowess.
Possible XI: Taylor(WK), Siddiqui, Mahmadullah, Shanto, Ariful, Wiese, Brathwaithe, Al-Amin, Taijul, Junaid and Shariful.
Fantasy Tips and Suggestions:
Wicketkeeper: Brendan Taylor has been very good for the Titans although their middle-order hasn't been able to capitalize on his starts. He should be preferred over Nurul Hasan with the Dhaka keeper batting too deep for a player of his talents also.
Batsmen: Rony Talukdar and Junaid Siddiqui have been among the best local batsmen this season with vital contributions at the top of the order. Both of them along with Mizanur Rahman are ideal for the fantasy teams. The options of Kieron Pollard and Nazmul Hossain Shanto could also prove to be handy if chosen.
All-rounders: With quite a few quality all-rounders on offer, Mahmadullah, Sunil Narine and Shakib Al Hasan are the ideal set of players to have in your side. Shakib and Mahmadullah have led from the front with over 200 runs to their name. Shakib has also picked up the most wickets for a Dynamites' bowler with seventeen wickets and is key for Dhaka's plight for a play-off place.
Bowlers: Rubel Hossain, Taijul Islam and Andrew Birch are the ideal set of bowlers to choose with their ability to pick up wickets well known to one and all. Taijul is also capable of opening the bowling and could pick up a few early wickets to dent the Dynamites hopes.
Captain: Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmadullah Riyad are the front-runners for the mantle of captain with their recent performances indicating a grandstand finish for both in the final league match. Sunil Narine is also looking dangerous with bat and bowl and could slot in as captain as well.
