SEC vs DSG Dream11 prediction: 3 differentials you could pick in today’s SA20 match – Jan 13, 2023

The Sunrisers Eastern Cape face off against the Durban Supergiants in the 5th match of SA20 2024 on Saturday, January 13, at St. George's Park in Gqeberha.

The defending champions' opening fixture against the Joburg Super Kings was washed out, and they'll definitely want to have no rain interruptions this time around to make the most of their home matches.

The Durban Supergiants really look like a powerful unit this season, and that firepower was on display when Heinrich Klaasen dismantled the MICT bowling attack to help DSG win in a rain-curtailed contest.

While their bowling attack could've done better, with MICT scoring 207/5 in 20 overs, their batters stepped up and delivered, with Klaasen leading the way, and Matthew Breetzke also contributing handsomely at the top.

Wiaan Mulder could star with the bat in this edition of SA20.

25-year-old Wiann Mulder is one of the most promising all-rounders in South African cricket right now. While his role in this DSG side is unclear, him batting at No. 3 against MICT, irrespective of the result, makes him one to watch out for with regards to this match.

While Mulder didn't get to bowl in that match, he walked out to bat in the powerplay after Quinton de Kock's dismissal, and it looks like he will continue batting high up the order. His medium pace will definitely be handy on a two-paced surface like Durban, and there's a good chance he picks up a wicket or two.

With an ownership level of around 25% that's only set to go down once the lineups are announced, Mulder could be a solid Dream11 differential pick.

#1 Adam Rossington (WK) (SEC)

It's hard to discern why Rossington's ownership is so low heading into this match. Maybe it's because SEC's opening fixture got washed out and Durban won theirs. Durban having three quality wicket-keepers of their own in Heinrich Klaasen, Quinton de Kock, and Nicholas Pooran doesn't help.

As a result, Rossington is sure to have a low ownership heading into this match, but the SEC wicket-keeper/opening batter is one of the most dangerous Dream11 picks in this match. Rossington is a monster batter in the powerplay and has a high boundary count, and if he crosses 10 balls, you can be rest assured he'll pick up maximum points for strike rate.

He scored 246 runs last season at a strike rate of 166.22, and with him donning the gloves for SEC, he also has that avenue towards scoring points. While it may be hard to select someone like Rossington when Klaasen and QDK are also in contention, he certainly has what it takes to haul big.
