2014 FCB Youth Cup: 10 boys selected to represent India in Munich

The 2014 FC Bayern Youth Cup powered by Adidas was held over this weekend February 8/9 at the Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi with Pune FC Under-16 boys emerging as the champions with a final 4-2 penalty shootout victory over Bengaluru FC U-16 boys of the Under-16 7-A-Side competition.

This years edition of the FCB Youth Cup was once more held to select 10 Indian boys to represent Team India in the global FCB Youth Cup at the Allianz Arena in Munich in May 2014. Of the 10 selected Indian boys, five are from Pune FC, four from Bengaluru FC and one from Delhi-based Hindustan FC.

The 10 selected Indian boys are Aniket Jadhav, Krishanu Santra, Manoranjan Singh, Omkar More, Sebastian Thangmuhangsang (all Pune FC), Mani Vannan, Pradip R., Prashant R., Shelton Paul (all Bengaluru FC), and Shibam Sarkar (Hindustan FC)

Meanwhile N.Sana Singh, Wungyam Muirang (both Shillong Lajong FC) and Faisal have been named as the three standbyes, if any of the selected boys cannot make the trip.

The Most Valuable Player award went to defender Manoranjan Singh (Pune FC), while his teammate Aniket Jadhav (Pune FC) won the Golden Boot award, while Shibam Sarkar (Hindustan FC) was named as the tournament’s Best Goalkeeper.
