Bengaluru FC, who are leading Group E, will take on the Maldivian champions New Radiant SC at their home ground, the Maldives National Football Stadium on Wednesday. With nine points on the table, the blues have already shown their domination by winning all their three matches so far
Interestingly, they previously beaten New Radiant SC 1-0 on matchday three at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, in Bengaluru, earlier this year.
New Radiant are right behind Bengaluru FC in the standings, having defeated the likes of Aizawl FC and Abahani Dhaka earlier. The Maldivian side will be looking to level up with Bengaluru at the top of Group E, with three points from this match. Only the team that finishes top of the group get to make it to the Inter-Zone semifinal.
Despite the importance of the match, the Blues have hinted that they may rest some of their key players, something that they have done in the continental championship throughout this season. However, now that the Indian domestic calendar is over, and the scheduling of fixtures is not as hectic, they can slowly start inculcating some of their top stars in their AFC Cup matchday squads as well.
