Reigning I-League champions Churchill Brothers SC in a bid to provide service to the society and also to spread education through football has decided to tie-up with El Shaddai, Goa a charitable trust working for the betterment of underprivileged children and orphans.

The El Shaddai Charitable Trust is a registered, non-profit Charity working in Goa and other states of India, implementing the Child Rights Act 2003/05 for orphans, street children and children coming from economically desperate conditions; cared and provided with food, clothing, shelter and education, for a better future.

They have residential Homes, Community Centres, Children’s Cottage Hospital (ESCCC) for H.I.V. and terminally ill patients, Day Care & Night Shelters, plus Cottages for the seniors who are attending University, Colleges, Technical Institutions and Professional Training Centres in Goa. In addition, they have Outreach Projects in Nagpur, Karnataka and Kerala. They have a free food and clothes distribution programme in the slums in Goa.

This tie-up was kicked started today on the occasion of Indian Independence day when a group of Churchill Brothers footballers along with club CEO Ms Valanka Alemao and General Manager Frazer Alemao, paid a visit to the El Shaddai Center at Margao and spend time with the children. The footballers interacted with the kids and also played some fun football related games with them.

Ms. Valanka Alemao while giving away prizes to the winners of various events said, “Our plan for the tie up is to send our coaches and players to train the children on a fortnightly basis to various El Shaddai centres. And once they get the grip of the game we can provide them advance training and the talented one’s can be absorbed into the Churchill Brothers Youth Programme and hopefully don the senior team jersey in the near future.”

Valanka further added that she expects this tie-up to be fruitful and also hopeful that Churchill Brothers and El Sheddai can set a wonderful example of how football can be used as a social tool and help underprivileged children find new hope.

The players who were present at the event were Hugo Machado, Daniel Amoreirinha, Bikramjit Singh, Amritpal Singh and Hasten D’Costa.
