Third Day of the U-18 Y-League saw a number of ten goals being scored across the four games. East Bengal and Shillong Lajong won today with a convincing performance as they inch towards qualification to the Semi-Finals. FC Goa and SAI Trivandrum keep their qualification aspirations alive with key wins.

MATCH 1 : East Bengal 3-0 Minerva Punjab

As tensions kept brewing between East Bengal and Minerva Punjab off the field due to allegations of match-fixing, fake transfers; the Red and Golds came top of Minerva Punjab on the field today as they blew away the Chandigarh based side 3-0.

Lalcchanhima Tetepuia gave East Bengal the lead in the 10th minute. Tetepuia scored eight minutes later to double the lead for last year's runners-up. Rohlupuia made it 3-0 late in the second half to put the game to bed.

Minerva Punjab boasting the likes of World Cup Bound Squad regulars like Jeakson Singh, Nongadamba Naorem and Anwar Ali have unperformed this year with inconsistent outings in the youth league.

MATCH 2 : Aizawl FC 0-3 FC Goa

FC Goa kept their qualifying aspirations alive with a dominating win over Aizawl FC today in Shillong. Lalawmpuia (35', 63') scored in either halves to put the Young Gaurs in the driving seat. Before Aizawl FC could go for a comeback, fan favourite Princeton Rebello tripled the lead in the 87th minute to put the game out of Aizawl FC's reach.

MATCH 3 : Ozone FC Bengaluru 0-2 Shillong Lajong

Shillong Lajong moved one step closer to qualification today as they tamed Ozone FC Bengaluru 0-2 in the U-18 Y-League in Shillong. A cagey affair in the first half, the game turned on its head as Shillong Lajong scored twice in quick succession to blow Ozone away through Phrangki Buam (60') and Parvaj Bhuiya (65').

MATCH 4 : SAI Thiruvananthapuram 2-0 FC Pune City

SAI Boys from the Capital of Kerala kept up the pressure on to East Bengal in Group B by registering a comfortable win over FC Pune City, 2-0.

The SAI Boys scored in quick succession late in the first half through Inayath (30') and Vaishakh (35') to go 2-0 ahead at the break. FC Pune City piled on the immense pressure in the second half in a hope to pull one back. The clock kept ticking and frustration kept creeping up, as Jakob Vanlalhimpuia was sent off in the 94th minute for a late tackle.
