The first Kolkata Derby of the I-League 2014/15 has been rescheduled and the match will now be played on February 11, 2015, at the Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan in Saltlake.

The change has taken place due to the fact that the authorities have regretted their inability to provide police force in view of Saraswati Puja on January 25, and Republic Day on January 26.

Over and above, it is gathered that January 26, 2015 has been declared as "Red Alert Day" by the Government of India. This has further made the availability of necessary police force practically impossible for the security of the match.

The Kolkata derby, featuring Mohun Bagan AC and East Bengal Club, goes down as one of the greatest football rivalries in the world, and the match has a rich history behind it.

East Bengal will thus be hosting the first derby of the league on February 11, whereas Mohun Bagan will host the return leg at the same venue on March 28.
