The Spanish player came to India as a result of intense scouting by Jordi Villa, who worked with Chennai City coach Akbar Nawas before the season. Since coming to India, his performance made spectators sit up and take notice.

In the very first match, Gordillo enthralled the audience with his skills and speed. From left, he can provide delightful crosses and move into a deeper role, he can score goals.

Gordillo has already scored four goals and he will add more dimension to this side.

Lalrindika Ralte (East Bengal)

After spending some years with ISL clubs Mumbai City, ATK and North-East United, Lalrindika Ralte returned to East Bengal again this year. The experience which he gained from playing in a more superior league has helped immensely to improve his performance.

Didika, as he famously called, was given the responsibility to lead his side. He has now become more mature on the field.

Didika controls the ball well and can dictate play in the midfield. He has already earned reputation in scoring from long rangers and set-pieces.

Pedro Manzi (Chennai City)

Another Chennai City FC recruit from Spain, Pedro Manzi caught all the attention in the very first match of this edition’s I-League with his hat-trick. No other foreigner has scored three goals in his very first match of this tournament.

His efficiency within the box is unquestionable. Manzi mainly plays as an attacking midfielder but in certain situations, he can go up and play as a forward. After the opening salvo, he failed to carry on the same form in the upcoming matches. But on his day, he can kill the opponent.

Amarjit Singh Kiyam (Indian Arrows)

The only Indian Arrows player to find a place in the line-up. Amarjit Singh led Indian team in their historic appearance in U-17 World Cup last year. He was also made the captain of Arrows after the World Cup.

Arrows finished on the bottom last season but have since gained experience and under the coaching of Floyd Pinto, they are performing well, even though the results are not a true reflexion.

Among the young bunch, Amarjit is catching the eye more than others. He was currently on loan from ISL club Jamshedpur FC and has already scored two goals for Arrows.

At a time when the strikers are not doing the duties, Amarjit, the right-winger put up inspiring performances in almost every match.
