Bengaluru FC 'B' team made their way to the top of Group C, ahead of TRAU FC, after they earned a narrow 2-1 victory over Kolkata giants Mohammedan Sporting SC, at the Bengaluru Football Stadium, in Bengaluru, on Sunday.

Roshan Singh had given the Blues the lead in the first half before Wael Ayan equalised just minutes later. However, Lamgoulen Hangshing won it for Bengaluru with a little over eight minutes of regulation time remaining.

BFC 'B' head coach Naushad Moosa had wrung in the changes, as he named three new players in his squad after their defeat in the earlier game. Goalkeeper Shaikhan CP, winger Roshan Singh and forward Lalrintluanga Chawnglut were brought in to the side for the match against the Kolkata giants.

While the Blues started off on a positive note, it took some time for them to break the deadlock. However, a 37th-minute corner, which was cleared by the Mohammedan defence, fell in the path of Naorem Roshan Singh, who unleashed a fierce shot to score from long range.

Their lead did not last for too long, however, as Mohammedan's flamboyant playmaker and West Bengal's Santosh Trophy star Tirthankar Sarkar's cross fell perfectly for Wael Ayan to slot it home, just a couple of minutes later.

It was a hard-fought second half, and that was quite evident when Mohammedan's Sukhwinder suffered a cut to his head after colliding with Naorem. However, the Blues pressed on, and eventually found the winner in the 82nd minute, when Lalrintluanga was set on his way by Prashanth. Lalrintluanga cut inside and put it through to Lamgoulen inside the box, as the latter made short work of the chance, as he scored from close range.

With this win, BFC 'B' are on the same number of points (14) as TRAU FC, at the top of Group C. However, the Blues are currently ahead on their head-to-head record.
