The pre-quarterfinals of the Super Cup continued on Sunday as Churchill Brothers faced off against Mohun Bagan at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneshwar, Orissa.

Mohun Bagan finished the I-League on the third spot in what was a close affair in the end for the title. Churchill Brothers, on the other hand, had a disastrous campaign that saw them get relegated from the I-League after finishing in the ninth spot just above the Indian Arrows.

Churchill Brothers had the upper hand in the first half of the match as Willis Plaza got the lead for the Goan side in a great display of individual skill. Mohun Bagan kept the pressure on the Churchill goal and were rewarded with a penalty at the end of the first half that was converted by Dicka. The top scorer of the I-League added another in the second half to ensure the progress of the Mariners to the final eight of the Super Cup.

Ricardo Cordozo (6/10) - The Churchill keeper was unlucky to concede the penalty goal scored by Dicka after initially saving his tame effort. He had a busy second half as Mohun Bagan kept attacking the Churchill goal.

Jovel Martins (5.5/10) - The right-back for the Goan side had a busy outing as he was in charge of keeping the dynamic Bagan wingers Nikhil Kadam and Faiaz in check. He could not contribute much to the attacking department as a result of that.

Osagie Monday (6/10) - The Churchill skipper was the leader in the defence as well with his commanding presence at the back as he dealt with Dicka well. He was unfortunate to be injured at the start of the second half and was replaced by Pawan Kumar.

Hussein Eldor (6/10) - The Lebanese defender played a formidable companion to Monday in the Churchill backline as they tackled the threat of Moghrabi and Dicka well. He was strong in his tackles and in the air not allowing much space to the Bagan attackers.

Denechandram Meitei (5/10) - The left-back for Churchill was kept busy throughout the match as he marked the wide attackers of Mohun Bagan.

Dawda Ceesay (6.5/10) - The Gambian midfielder played behind the attackers and was crucial in the creation of chances for the Goan side. He used his physicality well to get past the Bagan defenders and even had a few cracks at the goal.

Bektur Talgat (6/10) - The central midfielder was the defensive presence in the centre of the park for Churchill as he moved across the midfield to curb the Bagan attacks.

Britto PM (5.5/10) - The Goan midfielder used his pace well to break on the counter when Churchill attacked through the flanks. He was replaced in the second half of the match by Onyeama Francis.

Nicholas Fernandes (6/10) - The left winger Fernandes was an active threat to the Bagan defence with his runs on the flank. He put in good crosses for Willis Plaza to attack inside the box but had a small blemish as he conceded the penalty that led to the equalizer.

Richard Costa (5.5/10) - The midfielder did well alongside Ceesay to initiate Churchill attacks as the Goans dominated the first half of the match.

Willis Plaza (7.5/10) - The Trinidad and Tobago international opened the scoring for Churchill Brothers at the half-hour mark when he hurtled past a couple of defenders to lift the ball into the goal past the rushing Shilton Paul.

Substitutes:

Pawan Kumar (4/10) - The FC Pune City loanee came on to replace the injured Osagie Monday in the defence.

Onyeama Francis (4/10) - The attacker came on in the final ten minutes of the match as Churchill pressed on to find the equalizing goal.

Shilton Paul (6/10) - The Mohun Bagan veteran keeper had a quiet outing in the goal as Churchill Brothers were playing on the counter-attack. He was beaten by Willis Plaza in the first half of the match in a great individual effort.

Eze Kingsley (6/10) - The centre-back formed a strong partnership with Kinshuk Debnath at the back as they aimed to deal with the menacing Willis Plaza inside the box.

Kinshuk Debnath (5.5/10) - The Bagan skipper marshalled the defence from the back as he put in a hard shift to control the Churchill attackers. He put in a lot of crucial tackles as he did well alongside Kingsley.

Arijit Bagui (6/10) - The young right-back was active on the flank as he took on the Churchill defenders when he attacked. He made a lot of overlapping runs and combined well with Sheikh Faiaz up ahead.

Gurjinder Kumar (6/10) - The former Pune FC man played as the left-back for the Kolkata side and looked good when he moved ahead in the attack.

Yuta Kinowaki (6/10) - The Japanese midfielder played just ahead of the Bagan defence as he started plays from the back. He tracked back and defended to break up Churchill plays as well

Cameron Watson (6.5/10) - The central midfielder controlled the flow of the play for the Kolkata giants as he used his ball distribution skills well. The Aussie was the designated set-piece taker for the Kolkata side and delivered good balls into the box.

Nikhil Kadam (6/10) - The former Mumbai FC player featured on the left wing for the Mariners and put in good deliveries inside the box. He used his pace well to keep the Churchill defenders alert at all times.

Dipanda Dicka (8.5/10) - The striker did well to move all across the box proving a menace for the Churchill defenders. He was lucky to score the penalty at the end of the first half after the initial weak effort was saved by Cardozo. He added another goal to his tally at the 70th minute when he latched onto a headed ball by Moghrabi to slot in the finish.

Akram Moghrabi (7/10) - The Lebanese forward did well with his movement and aerial supremacy in the attack as he created chances for fellow striker Dicka. His aerial prowess came to the fore when he headed a ball across the box for Dicka to finish for the second goal.

Sk. Faiaz (7/10) - The young winger was a constant threat on the right flank with his pace and overlapping movement. He won the penalty that was converted by Dipanda Dicka at the end of the first half.

Substitutes:

Beingaiccho Beikhokei (3.5/10) - The former Bengaluru FC man came on to replace Sheikh Faiaz in the final five minutes of the match in the first change made by Shankarlal Chakraborty.

Raynier Fernandes (3/10) - The Mumbai-born lad came on to replace Moghrabi late in the match as Mohun Bagan aimed to close out the game.

Samuel Kane (1/10) - The youngster came on in the added time of the match to replace the goalscorer Dipanda Dicka as Mohun Bagan made the final change of the match.
