What's the story?
East Bengal midfielder Mahmoud Al Amna has recently posted on Social Media, regarding his future. He stated that he has an offer from another club, but, his priority will be East Bengal Club. The Syrian also heaped praises on the East Bengal supporters.
In case you didn't know...
Mahmoud Al Amna started his career with Sporting Goa in 2015, before winning the I-League with Aizawl, and ended up with East Bengal in late 2017. Mahmoud Al Amna has been with East Bengal since Calcutta Football League 2017 and, is on the cusp of having his contract end.
The heart of the matter
Although several reports suggest that the Syrian Midfielder is all set to extend his stay at East Bengal by a single year, the Syrian took to Social Media to describe the current situation about his future.
Al Amna was all praise for the East Bengal fans. He thanked the supporters for their unconditional love and support throughout the season, and has promised to try his best to stay at the club.
A few Weeks ago, sources suggested that Indian Super League sides ATK and NorthEast United, had offered him better contracts which has put Al Amna in a fix.
Al Amna has been extremely instrumental for East Bengal in the ongoing season. His partnership with Katsumi Yusa, and Cavin Lobo, in the midfield has been lethal and troublesome for the opposition in several matches.
Amna is all set to take a decision on whether to stay at East Bengal or, switching sides after the ongoing Super Cup. He will feature for East Bengal in the upcoming Super Cup Semi Final tie, against a free-scoring but depleted FC Goa on April 16.
Despite Amna's indication of leaving East Bengal for a lucrative contract elsewhere, the fans of East Bengal can still hope that their club manages to hold on to Amna, given that the rumour of him staying at East Bengal is still going on in the media.
If Amna decides to leave East Bengal, the 'Red and Golds' would be in a considerable amount of trouble to form a new team. Amna's contract extension is crucial for East Bengal's next season.
