When contacted by Sportskeeda, Mohun Bagan team manager Sanjay Ghosh said, "Yes, there was a bit of an accident with the bus this morning. The AC inside the bus blew up and caught fire. Thankfully, nobody was hurt. We shifted all the players and officials to another bus."

The tournament organizers arranged for another bus for the Mariners and the team was safely escorted to the team hotel.
