Week 10 of ISL 2017/18 saw some exciting performances in the four games that were played.

NorthEast United recorded their second home win while Jamshedpur FC won back to back matches for the first time. FC Pune City, Bengaluru FC and FC Goa recorded victories as well.

In this article, we look at 5 forwards whose performances stood out:

Kalu Uche: Delhi Dynamos' Kalu Uche scored two fine goals and produced a superb performance but was unlucky to be on the losing side against Jamshedpur FC. The Nigerian's second goal was the better of the two as he rose superbly and managed to plant a difficult header downwards. The Delhi captain used his physicality to good effect holding the ball and bringing others into play. The former Levante striker’s movement and intelligence meant that Jamshedpur’s defence had a tough time against him. Uche has now scored four goals and is the top scorer for Delhi Dynamos. Unfortunately, all his goals have come in losing causes so far.

Jerry Mawihmingthanga

Jerry Mawihmingthanga: Jerry has been in fine form recently and has played a big role in Jamshedpur FC’s run of consecutive wins. The youngster provided a pinpoint cross from a corner for Tiri to head home and spark Jamshedpur FC’s comeback after they were two goals down. The 21-year-old has contributed in four goals (scored one and assisted three) in the last four matches which is the most by a Jamshedpur FC player. In fact, it is also the most by a U-21 player in ISL 2017/18. The youngster has impressed with his technique and trickery to get out of tight spots and has also displayed maturity.

Ferran Corominas

Ferran Corominas: Ferran Corominas had been going through a lean patch by his standards managing just one goal in his last four matches, but he returned to scoring ways producing a clinical finish to give FC Goa the lead against Kerala Blasters and helping FC Goa win away from home for the first time in three matches. The Spanish striker became the first player to score 10 goals in ISL 2017/18 and is averaging a goal every 86 minutes. The 35-year-old has a goal conversion rate of 48% highlighting his lethal finishing. Incidentally, FC Goa are yet to lose a match in which Coro has scored.

Diego Carlos
Diego Carlos

Diego Carlos: Diego Carlos’s superb performance played a big part in FC Pune City’s big win over ATK. The Brazilian scored a superb solo goal dribbling past a couple of challenges and curling in the bottom corner. His brilliant performance saw him pick up the 'hero of the match' award. The 29-year old’s pace and trickery was too much for ATK’s defence to handle and Carlos especially tormented ATK’s right back Prabir Das. The forward had earlier shown glimpses of his class but just couldn’t find the cutting edge to make it count, now FC Pune City will hope that the Brazilian keeps finding the back of the net on a consistent basis.

Sunil Chhetri
Sunil ChhetriSunil Chhetri: Sunil Chhetri scored a brace against Mumbai City FC opening the scoring through a calmly taken penalty which he won and then sealed the match for Bengaluru FC by clinically finishing Udanta’s cross to give Bengaluru FC a 3-goal lead. He was also involved heavily in all of Bengaluru FC’s good work going forward. The Indian captain was a threat himself with his movement and could have scored a hattrick. The record Indian goalscorer has so far contributed with seven goals and an assist and has equaled his best ever goal tally in an ISL season. The 33-year-old is also the top Indian goal scorer in ISL 2017/18.
