Known for their eccentric chants and inventive banners, West Block Blues - the hardcore supporters group of Bengaluru FC have carved a niche for themselves in Indian football. Since the club played it's first game five years ago, the support for the club has grown manifold and so has the brilliant atmosphere inside the Sree Kanteeveera stadium.
Tonight will arguably be the biggest domestic match that the Bengaluru FC home ground has ever hosted. It is time for the ISL final as the Blues set to take on Chennaiyin FC in the epic showdown of season 4. And as expected, the ardent fans of the Blues have made some special plans to make this a night to remember for everyone in the stadium.
According to a trusted source, a huge tifo is set to be unfurled at the stadium in the West Block A stand at the time of kickoff. It is expected to be one of the best show of support from the fans towards a team in the ISL history with the banner reportedly having an area of 8000 square feet. The interesting part about this banner is the fact that it is completely hand painted.
But the fans making this banner had to go through a lot of trouble. The untimely rains in Bengaluru yesterday reportedly destroyed the banner which also caused the members painting that banner to incur a fever. But the hardcore BFC supporters repainted it today some 45 km away from the city at 6 AM in the morning to get the banner ready in time for the final.
This is yet another episode of the lengths that the fans go to show their support for their side. With the final being held in Bengaluru, there was an added sense of excitement between the West Block Blues members as their beloved side are ready to take on Chennaiyin FC in the last encounter of the season.
Though the end result cannot be predicted, one thing is certain that the BFC supporters will bring their A-game to the stadium this evening and the tifo along with the personalized chants will provide an enthralling atmosphere inside the stadium.
