Bengaluru FC coach Alberto Roca heaped praise on captain Sunil Chhetri, lauding the striker for his professionalism, as the Bengaluru FC captain rejoined the squad for training just a few days after getting married.

The context

Chhetri got married to his long-time girlfriend Sonam Bhattacharya on Monday and now he is back in training, preparing for their upcoming match against North East United on Friday.

The heart of the matter

This attribute of Chhetri has impressed the coach a lot, and he even said that striker is the most professional player he has ever seen in his career.

When asked, on the eve of Bengaluru's match against NorthEast United FC, whether Chhetri will play in the upcoming match, Roca went on to laud his captain for the immense professionalism that he has shown.

"The situation with Sunil Chhetri? He's married, and he's available for tomorrow," said Roca. "He joined the team here and he's ready. I think he's the most professional player I've had in my career."

Chhetri married the daughter of Subrata Bhattacharya, Mohun Bagan legend, in a ceremony that was held in Kolkata, earlier this week. He hasn’t taken any leave for honeymoon rather he flew straight to Guwahati to train for the next match.

Surely, Chhetri will eye the coveted ISL trophy. As an Indian footballer, he has achieved everything at the club level. Without a doubt, the Indian captain will try and seal it for his side this year.

Sunil Chhetri has evolved over the years. He has admitted once that he tried to follow the footsteps of Bhaichung Bhutia and the most exciting part is that he has surpassed Bhutia as far as the number of goals are concerned in the international level. His commitment is a lesson for others.
