Baoringdao Bodo: The Youngest Player to play in the ISL

Although ISL 2017 is still in its early days, it has given us moments to cheer and has set benchmarks for the season ahead. In the process, there were many records that were broken during the first couple of weeks. We bring you the top 5 from that list.

Youngest player to play in ISL

Baoringdao Bodo was signed by Chennaiyin FC for ISL 2016 and was among the elite young players that were sent to train at FC Metz in France. Unfortunately, the ISL was a huge task for him at the age of 17 and he couldn't break into the first team for the 2016 season.

But the AIFF Elite Academy product, who had also captained the Indian U-17 team, broke Jerry Lalrinzuala's record of being the youngest player to play in ISL when he started for Chennaiyin FC in their 3-2 defeat at the hands of FC Goa. However, he didn't have the best of debuts and was taken off in the second half.

Iain Hume: The Most Capped Player in the ISL

Before this season began, two-time ISL winner with ATK, Borja Fernandez was the most capped player in the ISL with 47 appearances to his name. He had Iain Hume breathing down his neck with 46 caps. Hume the leading goal scorer in the ISL with 23 goals and was starting his season with a club which he won the Hero of the league in ISL 2014.

But the absence of Borja this season, coupled with Hume's two starts has shifted the tag of most-capped player from Borja to Hume, although he hasn't fired all cylinders and is yet to reach top gear in season 4.

Lallianzuala Chhangte is the Youngest player to score and assist in the same ISL game

Lallianzuala Chhangte, who famously scored a brace in his second game for the national side against Nepal in the SAFF Cup 2015, was deprived of opportunities with the Highlanders' last season failing to start even a single game.

But he grabbed his opportunity with both hands in his first ever ISL start against FC Pune City, becoming the youngest player to score and assist in the same game, breaking the record set by Cafu in ISL 2016. He setup Paulinho Dias for the opener with a brilliant cross before latching on to a defensive mistake by Pune to score Delhi's second.

FC Pune City: The first team to score 4 goals against ATK

The two-time champions ATK haven't really had the best of starts to an ISL campaign scoring just one goal in their two games and conceding four in a 4-1 defeat to the Stallions. The 4-1 loss was the first ever time that ATK had conceded more than 3 goals in an ISL match, which also meant that it was their heaviest defeat ever.

This is also the first time ATK have not managed to win even 1 out of their opening 2 matches in an ISL season. The 4 goals that they conceded in the opening two matches of ISL 2017 are the most they have conceded in their opening 2 matches in an ISL season.

Erik Paartalu scored a brace against Delhi Dynamos on Sunday

With two 0-0 draws to start with, who would've thought that we would see 28 goals in the next 8 games? But boy, weren't we surprised to see 10 goals on a Super Sunday, which took the tally of goals after the opening 10 games of ISL 2017 to 28, the maximum across the opening 10 games of any of the previous seasons. The Indian players have also held the upper hand in contributing to goals in the opening 10 games. We have seen 7 different Indian goal scorers so far, the most across any season in the ISL.
