The third week of ISL 2017 drew to a close on Sunday as FC Goa and FC Pune City both recorded wins. The Kerala Blasters scored their first goal of the season in a 1-1 draw with Mumbai City FC, while Chennaiyin FC continued their dominance over FC Pune City. In the other match, Jamshedpur FC played out a goalless draw against ATK.

In this article, we take a look at the forwards whose performances stood among the rest!

#5 Danilo (NorthEast United FC)

The NorthEast United striker had impressed in the first two matches for the Highlanders but had failed to find the back of the net. The former Santos academy product was once again superb against Delhi Dynamos, as he tirelessly closed down Delhi Dynamos defenders and held the ball upfront for his fellow attackers.

He got the reward for his tireless display when he was in the right place to profit from Delhi keeper Albino Gomes' lapse. His goal was NorthEast United’s second of the match and helped them win their first match of ISL 2017. With a goal under his belt, Danilo will be confident of leading NorthEast United’s attack.

#4 Balwant Singh (Mumbai City FC)

Balwant Singh?

The muscular forward was among the goals for Mumbai City FC in both their encounters in Week 3. He scored a superb goal against FC Pune City helping Mumbai City FC take the lead. The 31-year-old was also Mumbai City FC’s go-to man against the Kerala Blasters as well, where he scored a fine equalizer.

Balwant has always worked hard upfront and was a nuisance for FC Pune City’s and Kerala Blasters' defence with his physical presence and movement. With Mumbai City’s other strikers struggling, Balwant’s form will be crucial if Mumbai are to make their second consecutive semi-finals.

#3 Emiliano Alfaro (FC Pune City)

Emiliano Alfaro scored his third and fourth goals of the season against Mumbai City FC. The Uruguayan is a true penalty area poacher who comes alive in the box. He showed his lethal finishing and instincts against Mumbai City FC when his goal in the dying minutes of the match helped FC Pune City win their second match on the trot.

The 29-year-old is the only player in ISL 2017 to score goals in three consecutive matches so far. He has made a bright start so far and has also formed a promising partnership with Marcelinho. Alfaro is proving that how lethal he can be when he is provided with decent service. He is now the joint top scorer of ISL 2017 with 4 goals.

#2 Miku (Bengaluru FC)

The Venezuelan striker didn’t have the best of starts in his first match against Mumbai City FC but the forward enjoyed a much better outing against FC Goa. The former Getafe striker displayed skill, work rate and also lethal finishing, duly scoring two goals and helping 10-men Bengaluru FC level the match despite being a man down.

Miku has shown glimpses of his undoubted potential and once he gets match fit, the 32-year-old will definitely be among the top scorers of ISL 2017. His performance against FC Goa showed why he has earned over 50 caps for the Venezuelan national team.

#1 Coro (FC Goa)

Coro was earlier unlucky to be on the losing side against Mumbai City FC after a brilliant display but the FC Goa striker followed it up by scoring a superb hat-trick against Bengaluru FC.

He was a constant thorn for the Bengaluru FC defenders, pulling them out of position with his movement. His first goal was a thing of beauty as he skipped past two defenders before finishing clinically.

He has contributed with attacking returns in all three matches so far. The former Espanyol striker has wowed FC Goa fans with his twinkle toes, technique, vision and work rate. The Spanish striker, if he continues in the same vein, will surely lead FC Goa into the semi-finals.
