Josep Gombau's Delhi Dynamos have struggled this season. The poor form of Andrija Kaliderovic has not helped their cause and they are currently at 9th position on the ISL table with just 1 win from their 12 matches.

The Lions have just scored 13 goals overall while they have ended up conceding 21. In a bid to end the season on a high, the Delhi-based franchise has roped in Mexican player Ulises Davila.

The attacking midfielder has a wealth of experience under his belt. Ulises has played for the clubs Guadalajara, Vitesse, Sabadell, Cordoba, Tenerife, and lastly Santos Laguna.

The 27-year-old was also signed by Chelsea but spent most of his time playing on loan for other clubs and did not make a senior team appearance for The Blues.

The signing of the swift midfielder was confirmed by Delhi Dynamos on their official Twitter handle.

Ulises has also made 11 appearances for Mexico U20s and also has two appearances for the senior team. He was a part of the squad when Mexico U20s lifted the CONCACAF U-20 Championship trophy in 2011.

Throughout his club career, Ulises scored 23 goals and assisted another 11 in 196 appearances.

Even though Delhi's chances of making it to the playoffs are anything but mathematical, the addition of the new player will add a new lease of life to the club.

Ulises' ability to create chances and also finish accurately can help the Dynamos to at least a respectable finish. Being the latest recruit, the onus will lie on him to inspire the team. His ability to find players in pockets of space will also come in handy.

Even Rene Mihelic has looked lackluster in the tournament so far. The Slovenian player has failed to make an impact. The addition of Ulises might just start making things happen in the middle of the park for Delhi. The Mexican is also a versatile player and can operate on both the wings besides playing down the middle.

It is up to Josep now where to use the talented player and utilize him to maximize the performance of the team.
