On the other hand, Chennaiyin FC accumulated 32 points from their fixtures to gain entry to the knockout stages. Nevertheless, both the teams from South India offers entertaining football and the final will be a treat to watch!

#5 Udanta Singh

ATK’s Eugenson Lyngdoh and Udanta Singh are probably the best Indian midfielders at present. With speed and agility, he is a threat to any team. Most importantly, he has been with the ‘West Block Blues’ since 2014 and has played a vital part in Bengaluru’s I-League win in 2015-16 seasons and also the Federation Cup win last year.

Although he has not been in his best form this season, a player like him always rises on big match days. A graduate of the Tata Football Academy, the Manipuri winger is capable of making long swift runs through the flanks and creating chances at regular intervals. Sunil Chhetri and Miku Will heavily depend on Udanta Singh to support them and supply assists throughout the final in Bengaluru!

#4 Raphael Augusto

Raphael Augusto is the most successful passer for the Chennaiyin FC

Raphael Augusto is another player who is likely to play a key part on Saturday evening at the Shree Kanteerava Stadium. The central midfielder can hold the ball and distribute the same to the forwards, which will be vital for the Chennai-based team. Strikers like Jeje Lalpekhlua will be dependent on the Brazilian for the supply of balls from the midfield throughout the entire length of the match.

The former Fluminense player has been doing his job secretly throughout the season, and is the most successful passer for the Chennaiyin FC with a count of 848 in 17 matches! His services will be more than useful in the final.

#3 Sunil Chhetri

The Indian skipper has steered the team to the final from the front and has left no stones unturned on his behalf giving his cent percent in each and every match. His brilliant display in the semi-finals against Pune City FC in which he scored a hat-trick showed his class once again!

With a total of 13 goals this season, Chhetri has played the role of a striker and also a major playmaker giving crucial passes in the attacking half. Bengaluru FC has been so good with their passing that they been the team with second most successful passes with a count of 9300 so far only behind FC Goa who leads the table with 10798 passes.

#2 Jeje Lalpekhlua

Jeje Lal
Jeje Lalpekhlua always makes it special on big occasions

The ‘Mizo Sniper’ has been in a phenomenal form off late and his performance in the semi-finals will be a big worry for Bengaluru FC. A poacher in front of the box, he has the ability to sense if there is even a minor chance of scoring a goal. Although, he is not among the top 5 goal scorers of the season, yet he has a habit of making his presence felt on big occasions.

Just a look back to the 2015 SAFF Championships Final, where he scored the equaliser in the 70th minute against Afghanistan to keep India in the hunt and eventually the ‘Blue Tigers’ won the title! Jeje has scored a total of 9 goals this season, but scoring in the final will make it special and a one to remember!
