Premier League News: 'I thought I wasn't cut out for the Premier League' -Rice
England midfielder Declan Rice has become pivotal for both club and country following his breakout season in the Premier League despite the youngster admitting that he doubted he was good enough for top-flight football.

Rice was substituted at half-time during West Ham's season-opening defeat at Anfield and considered a loan away from the London club.

"After the game (versus Liverpool) when I got dragged (off at half time during a 4-0 defeat on August 12), I thought I wasn't cut out for the Premier League.

"I was honestly thinking about going to speak to the manager to maybe go on loan somewhere because that was tough that day," Rice said.

But his fortunes have drastically changed and he is now targeting a first piece of silverware with England since 1966 when they prepare to face the Netherlands in the Nations League semi-final.
