South Korean footballer Do Dong-Hyun said that he is looking forward to featuring for Kingfisher East Bengal having recently joined the I-League club on a one-year deal. The 21-year old, who is in pre-season preparations with the Kolkata-based outfit is also looking forward to taking part in the derby matches against Mcdowell Mohun Bagan.

Speaking to East Bengal TV, the former Brisbane Roar and FC Gifu player said: “We are still in the pre-season. But everybody is nice to me and we are training well, so I am enjoying Indian football.”

Dong-Hyun also talked about his experience of playing in the Indian Super League, having turned out for NorthEast United in the inaugural edition.

“Last year was a wonderful experience. ISL can take Indian football to a high level and make it famous,” he said.

Dong-Hyun, who has two caps for the Korean Under-20 side is also excited at the prospect of facing Mohan Bagan in the Kolkata derby.

“I have never played in a derby match, but I have a good experience of playing in full stadiums in front of big crowds,” Dong-Hyun said.
