What is the lore behind Saura in Fortnite?
Saura is a rather unique character in the Metaverse due to her being a fusion of two characters: Aura and Rex. While not as popular as the two original characters, she did shine back in Chapter 4 Season 5 (OG). Players wanted to buy her as she reminded them of the good times gone by, and she fit in perfectly with the OG theme at the time.
While she may not be an original design, but rather an amalgamation of two characters, her aesthetics are still brilliant in every way. In fact, many label her as a variant (snapshot) of Aura rather than a fusion of Rex and Aura. While Epic Games is yet to state anything in this matter, it has become a general norm for the most part. Whichever holds true, Saura is still an amazing character in-game.
Unfortunately, while she has a rich past in terms of design inspiration, there is nothing that connects her to the storyline as such. Her official description reads, "Protect the past in style." This is a reference to the OG season, but other than that it holds no significance. That said, her role in the storyline is limited to being a cosmetic entity. Perhaps Epic Games will expand upon things in the future, but for now, this is the extent of her influence.
