What is the lore behind Unchained Ramirez in Fortnite?

There is no lore that ties Unchained Ramirez to the storyline of Fortnite. The character was introduced to the Metaverse as part of the collaboration with Balenciaga. However, based on his design, it would appear that Epic Games took inspiration for her from the OG character known as Ramirez. She was first introduced in Fortnite Save The World. They share a few similarities in terms of the mode used for both characters, but this is where it ends. Unlike the OG version of Ramirez who looks ready for combat, Unchained Ramirez is a diva in the true sense.

Due to the character being created for the Balenciaga collaboration, she has decked up and made to dazzle. As such, she is nothing like the original character. The official in-game description for Unchained Ramirez reads, “She's coming in haute.” This is a fashion reference and has no connection to the game. That being said, she will likely never be a part of the storyline in any way and remain limited to a collaborative cosmetic.
