What is the lore behind Azuki in Fortnite?

Azuki has no lore in Fortnite, but it can be assumed that the character hails from a reality where everyone is a cat. While Azuki’s backstory may be lacking, it’s clear that the reality from where they hail takes inspiration from Japan in some way. This is reflected in the character’s design aesthetics and all of the cosmetics that are associated with them. The character’s official in-game description reads, “Wandering warrior destined to end the Whiskeria Wars.”

From this it is clear that the character has been part of the “Whiskeria Wars” which is likely ongoing in their reality. Since Azuki’s design takes inspiration from Japan, the “Whiskeria Wars” might be their version of The Sengoku Period (1467-1568). The fact they are a wandering warrior could also mean that he’s a Ronin, who also happens to be a character in the Metaverse. It is very likely that they both know each other as they were introduced at the same time during Chapter 3 Season 1. That said, it is unclear if Azuki will ever end the Whiskeria Wars that has likely consumed their reality.
