What is the lore behind Metal Mouth in Fortnite?

Metal Mouth is a rather odd character in the Metaverse. His origins are unknown as ar his motives. His appearance would suggest that he belongs to some criminal faction, but that perhaps could just be the way he looks; which to be honest, is quite intimidating. His face is covered by a metallic mask and his eyes glow red. Suffice to say, coming face to face with the character in-game could be nerve wracking.

He has also been featured as a character on the island back in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1. Players could recruit him as a Heavy Specialist NPC. It suits his character as the official lore guide says this about him, "Metal Mouth is a simple man. He sees a target, he shoots." That said, there is no lore associated with Metal Mouth. His in-game description which reads, "What lies beyond that sinister smile?" does not reveal much.

The only other thing that is known about him is that he has a female counterpart (perhaps his own sister) called Zadie. Much like him, her design aesthetics are very similar in a few ways. She also wears a metal mask. That said, it is unclear what plans Epic Games has for them within the storyline. As of now, they are limited to mere cosmetic entities within the game's ecosystem.
