Bungie to make sure not to make same mistakes in future Destiny DLCs

Destiny

Destiny got its first major expansion, The Dark Below, back in December last year. The game was easily one of the most anticipated titles on 2014 but ended up disappointing many players upon its release. Despite its rocky launch, Destiny still managed to garner a huge player base, many of whom were excited about the game’s first expansion, The Dark Below. However, just like the games launch, players also had a lot or problems with The Dark Below Expansion.

Luckily it seems that developers Bungie have learnt from their past mistakes and will not be repeating that with future DLC’s for the game. Users on NeoGAF were pretty worried about the next expansion, with one mentioning how upgrading of Exotics and purchasing new vendor gears would “draw first blood.” Former Bungie employee, Luke Smith, responded to the worried user with the following post:

“No it won’t. Nothing specific to announce at this time, but the mistakes we made with the DLC1 reward economy will not be repeated:

Mistakes like:

  • Vendor gear invalidating the effort of VOG Raiders
  • Upgrading an Exotic reseting its talents”

This is good news for Destiny players as they won’t have to worry about their hard work going to waste. Destiny’s next big DLC titled, ‘The House of Wolves’ will be releasing sometime in early 2015. The Dark Below expansion rolled out on December 9th last year. The expansion received a lot of criticism after players who did not purchase the DLC were locked out of weekly strikes and Nightfall.
