Director Hajime Tabata reveals more details on Final Fantasy XV demo

Characters from Final Fantasy XV

Director of Final Fantasy XV, Hajime Tabata, has revealed more details of the game’s upcoming demo on Square Enix’s Active Time Report. Tabata has also revealed more interesting details on the full version of Final Fantasy XV.

First of all, Tabata has explained why the car was not included in the demo version of the game. The exclusion of the car (as seen in the trailers) had left many fans upset but it turns out there is a practical reason for this decision. He has stated that he got feedback from fans who wanted to know more about the characters they will be playing as well as the world of Final Fantasy XV.

So the development team felt it was best to exclude the car so that players could walk and explore the games open-world. This way they will get to experience the characters and the game world better. The driving feature will be included in the main game.

Square Enix has altered the Final Fantasy XV demo considerably since its announcement, so many features had to be removed. The development team will also be hiding some story spoilers in the demo copy which players can keep an eye out for. Besides this, the area in the demo will be pretty large so players can spend quite some time exploring, and according to Tabata, the demo can probably be completed within two hours.

Besides this, Tabata has stated that the company is still thinking of ways to implement airships in the game. He feels that flying the game is not very fun right now and hopes that it will get better once the final version releases. The development team has been facing some technical issues regarding the airships, but hopefully they will be able to overcome this.

Demo copies of Final Fantasy XV will be included in the first batch of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Collector’s Edition.
