Final Fantasy XV limited demo copies to be available

Final Fantasy XV

Square Enix revealed earlier this year that Final Fantasy Type-0 would finally be making its way to the US. The game would be a HD remake for the Xbox One and PS4. Fans were even more excited after they revealed that the game would also include a demo copy of Final Fantasy XV, one of Square Enix’s most anticipated Final Fantasy titles since its original reveal back in 2006. But a recent announcement by Square Enix states that copies of the playable demo are going to be limited.

Square Enix recently announced a Collector’s Edition of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, which will contain some pretty cool additions including a demo copy of Final Fantasy XV. These additions would not be included in the standard version of the game. Also it was further revealed that only the first few copies of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Collector’s Edition would contain the demo for Final Fantasy XV.

“First, as Tabata-san said in a recent episode of Square Enix Presents, this demo is exclusive to Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. We’re never going to release it as a stand-alone piece down the line. Secondly, it’s intended to be a special gift for those of you who purchase early — the demo will be limited to the “Day One” edition of the game, meaning that only the first shipment is going to have the demo in it. So if the demo is something you think you might like, we highly encourage you to pre-order or to be quick about getting to the store on launch day, March 17th, 2015.”

Not only is the demo limited to the “Day One” edition of the game, it won’t even release as a stand-alone piece, so players will not be able to get their hands on the demo unless they buy the Collector’s Edition on the day of its release. This is a pretty upsetting move by Square Enix, especially for fans who have been excited to finally try out the demo.

So if you do want to get your hands on the demo copy of Final Fantasy XV, it’s probably best to pre-order the Final Fantasy Type-0 HD Collector’s Edition now. The game is slated to release next year on the 17th of March, 2015.
