FIFA 18: 5 players you won't believe who have better ratings than Cristiano Ronaldo

Real Madrid CF v Levante UD - La Liga

The much awaited FIFA 18 ratings have been disclosed by EA Sports and needless to say, the entire world has an opinion on them. On paper at least, the ratings seem fair but as the season rolls on, one will be able to say for sure whether these were indeed the right numbers for each player.

One player has clearly stood out among the rest and leads the way yet again. And he is Cristiano Ronaldo, of course. The Portuguese star made the cover of the game and is the highest rated player in this year's game.

His numbers seem quite incredible. 90 pace, 90 dribbling and a whopping 93 in shooting ensure that he remains leaps and bounds ahead of the pack and for good reason.

His high-intensity work rate and performance on a consistent basis make him indomitable in attack and have led Real Madrid to several top honours in recent years. He isn't however, the leader in all departments. As it turns out, there are some surprising names out there who have actually managed to dethrone Ronaldo in various attributes.

These renegades have perfected one of the six major attributes in a FIFA 18 card and hence find themselves ahead of the Madrid star in that respect. Here is a list of those players you wouldn't believe actually beat Ronaldo's numbers in FIFA 18:

#5 Marouane Fellaini - 89 (PHY)

Here's one that is definitely a shocker. Who would have thought that Marouane Fellaini could have any kind of ratings ahead of Ronaldo? But the truth is, the Belgian gets way more stick than he deserves.

His incredible rating of 89 in physicality proves that strength is his strong suit and more often than not, he comes up props in that department. Ronaldo's 80 in physicality pales in comparison to Fellaini's numbers, making this a shock to drive home about.

#4 Jordi Alba - 93 (PAC)

Off to something more believable, Jordi Alba has managed to trump Ronaldo in not one but two departments. While it's obvious that being a left-back the Spaniard would have better defending numbers than Cristiano, what comes as a surprise is that Alba's 93 pace rating easily beats Ronaldo's 90 in that particular attribute.

Alba's pace has been a feature down the left flank but few would have expected such lofty standards this year. Nonetheless, his blistering pace attribute lists him among the top in the game and in turn puts him way ahead of his El Clasico opponent Ronaldo.

#3 Marco Asensio - 83 (PAS)

The meteoric rise to fame of Marco Asensio has largely been down to his intelligent play and crisp passing ability. But few would have believed that the Spanish upstart would eclipse his much senior Real Madrid compatriot this year in FIFA 18. Asensio manages a respectable 83 this year in passing while Ronaldo only has 80 to talk about.

Asensio's work rate also continues to be on the rise and he is surely one to look out for as the new season continues. As of right now, the young midfielder can be content with the fact that he actually beat his idol in a very important FIFA 18 category.

#2 Hector Bellerin - 95 (PAC)

Arsenal fans may rejoice now. While there hasn't been too much to celebrate in recent times for the Gunners, what can be said with surety is that Hector Bellerin is among the fastest players in European football today. The pacy Spaniard lived up to his reputation yet again in FIFA 18 by managing a whopping 95 in the pace category.

To put this into perspective, an attacking winger like Ronaldo only managed 90 in that category and Bellerin being a right-back by choice, beat him very easily. While he also pips Ronaldo in the defence attribute, what makes this a moral victory for Bellerin is his ease in getting past top players on the pitch. Arsene Wenger certainly wouldn't want to get rid of this one.

#1 Paulo Dybala - 91 (DRI)

In the never ending debate to decide the best player in the world, one man has slowly made himself very visible in the picture. While Messi still leads the way in Argentina, Paulo Dybala has emerged as a real contender to take over as a top player in Europe.

His 91 dribbling in FIFA 18 is especially impressive and powered with those numbers, he beats Ronaldo in that category. Ronaldo's 90 seemed unbeatable but the 5-star skill moves and sheer ability of Dybala puts him ahead of the Madrid star in this department. Juventus fans already consider him the best, it may be a matter of time before the world agrees too.
