Gearbox releases new story trailer for Homeworld Remastered Collection

Homeworld Remastered features updated graphics with the same classic story elements

Developers Gearbox has released a new trailer for their upcoming Homeworld Remastered Collection. The three minute long video dips into the games nostalgic elements coupled with some amazing updated graphics which older fans are sure to enjoy The Remastered Collection will include updated versions of Homeworld and Homeworld 2. The remake will consist of the same classic elements such as story and gameplay, but in stunning HD graphics. So fans of the original are in for quite the treat, though newcomers are likely to enjoy the title as well.

Gamers got their first look of the highly anticipated strategy title at PAX South 2015 in January. The original game was developed by Relic Entertainment and published by the now defunct Sierra Entertainment. The games won critical praise and tons of awards but came to an abrupt halt in 2003 after the release of Homeworld 2. It was then that Gearbox bought license to the game, rehired a lot of the original development team and then went onto to rebuilding the classic game for modern PC’s.

And by the looks of it, they seem to have done a fantastic job. The game seems to have retained much of its original charm while still looking new and rebuilt from the ground up. Homeworld Remastered will feature a new multiplayer setup as well as a couple of other bonuses. Homeworld Remastered Collection is slated to release on February 27th for the PC, and is priced at $34.99. The game can also be pre-ordered on Steam.
