Michy Batshuayi asks for FIFA 17 rating increase after winning Premier League title

Michy Batshuayi joined Chelsea before the start of the season for a whopping fee of £33 million. However, for him, this has been a particularly frustrating season.

When he was signed, the general consensus was that he would replace Diego Costa, who was set to leave for China. However, the Brazilian-born Spanish forward remained at Stamford Bridge and Batshuayi found it extremely difficult to find a regular first team spot.

Costa appeared to be a transformed man under the new boss Antonio Conte and enjoyed a stellar season, scoring 20 league goals. Consequently, there was no place for the summer signing in the first team and he had to be content with brief cameos.

Chelsea were well on course to win the Premier League and it seemed like Batshuayi would be the least significant player in the title-winning team. That was until the dying minutes of last night’s match against West Brom.

Chelsea needed a win to secure the league title with two games remaining, but they were left frustrated by the West Brom defence time and again. When Conte decided to bring on Batshuayi in the 76th minute, the game was goalless and heading towards a dull draw.

About six minutes later, the young Belgian forward would go on to score the title-winning goal and etch his name into the history books. It was an incredible finish to a frustrating season and Batshuayi celebrated by posting a series of tweets after the match.

Batshuayi’s Tweets

His first tweet posted just a few minutes after the game:

A Chelsea fan had posted an image of club legends Didier Drogba and Claude Makelele and compared them with Batshuayi and N’Golo Kante. Batshuayi, of course, had the perfect reply.

In his third tweet, he questioned EA Sports about his FIFA rating (and it was not the first time he had done so).

To which, EA Sports actually replied with this:

And to finish off in style, Batshuayi posted this gem.

While his performances on the pitch have not been very impressive this season, Batshuayi has always had a very strong Twitter game. After last night’s win, he obviously had more reasons to be happy.
