Rumour: Activision developing a new Guitar Hero title

The new Guitar Hero title will feature more realistic graphics

With the recent rumours of a Rock Band revival floating around, it was only a matter of time before rumours of a new Guitar Hero title started making the rounds as well. According to a recent report by Kotaku UK, Activision is now working on a new, more realistic Guitar Hero game. The last Guitar Hero entry, Warriors of Rock, released back in 2010 to mixed reviews.

Kotaku has learned from two separate sources that a new Guitar Hero title is in the works, which should be releasing sometime shortly. The report also mentions that the new title will have a more realistic style than its predecessors. This includes the games crowds, and performers. The new game will also come with a new guitar peripherals and is slated to arrive on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Kotaku also claims that the developers will be announcing the new game at this year’s E3.Activision is yet confirm or deny these rumours, but that hasn’t stopped Guitar Hero fans from celebrating. There are also rumours of a possible new Rock Band title as well.

The first Guitar Hero game released back in 2005 and did extremely well both critically and commercially. Fans started losing interest in the game after Activision flooded the market with more and more Guitar Hero titles. This culminated in the failure that was Warriors of Rock. Hopefully the new Guitar Hero title will fair a bit better this time around.
