Sony confirms PS Plus version of Driveclub is still being worked on

Driveclub is currently available for the PS4

A Sony spokesperson has assured fans that the PS Plus version of Driveclub is still being worked on, despite rumours stating the contrary. The free PS Plus version of the game was announced last year as a launch game for the PlayStation 4, though its release has been stalled ever since. Many believed that the game was in limbo after recent comments by PlayStation CEO, Jim Ryan.

In a recent interview with the Metro, Ryan stated that the version was “still being looked at,” and that he can’t “say anything at this stage.” Most fans were worried that Ryans comments meant the game was now in limbo, which is what started the rumours. A Sony spokesperson then stepped in to clarify Ryan’s statements and reassure fans that the game was still in development.

“We are continually working on improving the server capacity to enable us to launch the PS Plus Edition as quickly as possible,” the spokesperson confirmed.

So it’s safe to say that the game will be released at some point. However, Sony is yet to announce a release window for the PS Plus version of the game. So while the PS Plus version is still a possibility, it’s likely that it won’t be releasing anytime soon.

Driveclub is now available exclusively for the PlayStation 4. The game ran into significant issues during launch, which caused the delay of the PS Plus version of Driveclub.
