The Legend of Zelda Wii U has Japanese anime inspired graphics

According to Zelda Informer, in a recent interview with Famitsu Magazine, The Legend of Zelda Wii U director Eiji Aonuma has reportedly discussed about the upcoming titles unique style. The games graphical style is very heavily inspired by Japanese anime though this isn’t the first title in the franchise to have an anime look, as seen in The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword.

Aonuma wanted this particular title to “look different” from the other games in the Zelda franchise. He also states that the games graphics were heavily inspired by “Japanese animations”, as seen by the stunning cell shaded graphics in the games trailer. Aonuma has already stated that the game will look better than as it appeared at E3 2014 which is amazing considering how good the game already looks.

Though most of the Zelda games are very much inspired by Japanese anime, The Legend of Zelda Wii U still has a very unique cell shaded look going for it, very much like present day anime’s. The Wind waker and Skyward Sword also had a very unique graphical style.

Nintendo has promised to showcase more of the games footage during the upcoming E3 2015. The Legend of Zelda Wii U is slated to be released sometime in 2015.
