The World Wide Technology Championship, otherwise known as the WWT Championship, is next on the PGA Tour schedule. This weekend, golfers will converge in Mexico to compete for another trophy. Since this tournament is past the FedEx Cup portion of the schedule, the field does not have as many big names. Still, there are some good golfers heading south of the border this weekend, and the PGA Tour provided the power rankings for the field.

Top-ranked golfers ahead of WWT Championship revealed

5) Matti Schmid

Matti Schmid has been on a steady rise recently. The young golfer, who is just 26 and has only been a pro since 2021, has placed T16, fifth, and then T3 in his last three outings. He has steadily improved each time out, and he could continue that trend and break out with a win at the WWT.

4) Max Greyserman

In the last five starts, Max Gresyerman has come in second place three times. He has been agonizingly close to winning but without a trophy. On the 72nd hole of the Zozo Championship, he didn't drive well and had to settle for a par, which cemented a one-stroke loss. This weekend, he could come out and earn the win to finally break through this year.

3) J.J. Spaun

J.J. Spaun finished 2023 in good form. The golfer earned four top-10 finishes amid a streak of 10 straight-made cuts. Unfortunately, his momentum slowed until halfway through 2024. He was in the field at the Zozo Championship, which had several big names in it and managed to finish T6 to showcase his return to form.

2) Lucas Glover

Lucas Glover won the 2023 FedEx St. Jude Championship and is a veteran with a few impressive wins under his belt. He comes in second on the WWT Championship power rankings. He is in good form lately, with a T13 and a pair of T3 finishes during the fall schedule. Because of this, Glover has risen 15 spots to 63rd in the FedExCup points list and should be in line for another increase after this weekend.

1) Harris English

Harris English comes in on top of the power rankings for this weekend. 11 years ago, English won at Mayakoba, so it wouldn't be the first time he has earned a win in Mexico. He has placed top 10 (T6 and T9) in each of his last two starts, so he's playing as well or better than anyone else in the WWT Championship field.
