The International Series on the Asian Tour has garnered significant attention from LIV Golf followers following the conclusion of the 2024 season. This series plays a crucial role as a feeder circuit within the league led by Greg Norman.

The winner of the International Series will automatically receive a contract to play in LIV Golf in 2025. Meanwhile, those ranked 2-10 will earn a spot in the field for the Promotions Event in December, where they can compete for a spot in the breakaway league.

3 International Series players who could earn a 2025 LIV Golf

The 2024 International Series features 10 tournaments, half of which have already been played. The remaining five tournaments will take place between October and December.

Here are three players with a chance to win a spot at LIV Golf through the International Series.

#1 John Catlin

The American leads the International Series by a wide margin. With five tournaments to play, John Catlin has accumulated 810.88 points thanks to a win (Macau) and two runner-up finishes (Morocco and Black Mountain Championship). He also played in England, where he finished in 43rd place.

With a comfortable lead of nearly 300 points over the runner-up, Catlin remains the overwhelming favorite to secure the top spot. However, with several tournaments still to be played, other players have a chance to close the gap

One detail to keep in mind is that Catlin finished the LIV Golf season ranked 44th in the individual standings, despite only playing five tournaments as a reserve player.

This ranking puts him in the so-called Open Zone. It has not yet been reported whether Catlin will receive the same treatment as the other players ranked in the same zone (they retain their LIV Golf membership). This could affect the results of the International Series.

#2 Ben Campbell

The Kiwi is the second-highest ranked player on the International Series, thanks in large part to his victory at the Morocco event. Ben Campbell has played in all five tournaments so far and has two other top 5 finishes (Macau and the Black Mountain Championship) to his credit.

With 526.83 points, Campbell is one win away from catching Catlin in the rankings (depending on how the American finishes). However, with five tournaments remaining, Campbell will need to consistently deliver strong performances to challenge Catlin for the lead in both the International Series and the LIV Golf event.

#3 Michael Maguire

Another player who has participated in all five events of the International Series 2024 is Michael Maguire, who recently entered the top-flight position following his victory at the Black Mountain Championship.

With 387.40 points to his credit, Maguire's chances are slim but not non-existent. If he can capitalize on the momentum of his victory in Thailand and string together some good finishes, he could spring a surprise.
