What's the story?

India's golfing sensation Aditi Ashok, after winning her third Ladies European Tour crown at the FBM Open in Abu Dhabi earlier this year, has added another feather to her cap.

On Tuesday, she became the first Indian in history to qualify for the season-ending ME Group Tour Championship on the LPGA Tour and will head to Florida to take part in the prestigious event.

She will also maintain her LPGA card after such an incredible rookie season and will look to build on her fine run next year.

In case you didn't know

Ashok's rise has been nothing short of mercurial, with the 19-year-old already having won three LET titles in less than 12 months. She broke into prominence with a heroic showing at the 2016 Rio Olympics and since then, she has recorded some excellent performances.

The heart of the matter

2017 has been a memorable year for the youngster and has seen her take part in 20 events on the LPGA tour. She made the cut in 13 out of those, with a highest finish of tied-eighth at the Marathon Classic.

She will join seven other rookies in the field, in the form of Nicole Broch Larsen, Peiyun Chien, Nelly Korda , Olafia Kristensdottir, Sung Hyun Park, Madelene Sagstrom and Angel Yin.

It will be an extremely competitive field, with each of the Top 10 players taking part and 18 out of the top 20 in the world rankings participating.

What's next?

The $250,000 competition starts on November 16 and will played over four rounds, ending on November 19.
