Amateur PGA sensation Luke Clanton makes 2 eagles in 3 holes at 2024 Wyndham Championship

Luke Clanton continues to impress in the third round of the 2024 Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Clanton is through ten holes for the day and sits well within contention as he is tied for sixth place and is just three strokes behind co-leaders Cameron Young and Matt Kuchar. Having started off the back nine, the 20-year-old carded in two birdies in the first three holes to have a stellar start to the day.

The par four 13th hole saw the young sensation's game take a turn for the better. Clanton's 253-yard long tee shot was placed beautifully in the middle of the fairway to give him a solid approach shot. He seized the opportunity, knocking the ball into the hole from 129 yards for an impressive eagle.

However, the 13th hole was not the only hole that saw Clanton's stellar approach game come in clutch. Unfazed by a bogey on the 14th hole, he placed a 301-yard long drive in the middle of the fairway on the par five 15th hole. The amateur was not bothered by the massive stretch that separated him and the green and went on to strike his second shot close to the pin. He proceeded to hole the putt to card in his second eagle of the day.

Luke Clanton has made five starts on the PGA Tour so far this year. The amateur impressed the golf world as he made the cut in four events, excluding the current Wyndham Championship, in his rookie year.
