Matt Kuchar’s Early Life and Background

American professional golfer Matt Kuchar was born on June 21, 1978, in Winter Park, Florida to Peter Kuchar and Meg Kuchar. Matt has a younger sister, Rebecca Krutz. At the age of 12, Matt entered the world of golf under the guidance of his father, Peter Kuchar, who was a life insurance salesman. Matt attended Seminole High School and graduated in 1996. Matt took admission to Georgia Tech in Atlanta and developed his techniques and skills by playing collegiate golf events. While attending Georgia Tech, Matt became the first-time All-American twice on the Yellow Jackets golf team. In 2011, he did not win any tournament but finished second at the Memorial Tournament behind Steve Stricker and also at The Barclays.

In 2012, Matt tied for third place in the Masters Tournament. In the same year he secured his victory at The Players Championship on May 13, 2012. After that, he won several tournaments like the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship (2013), Memorial Tournament (2013), RBC Heritage (2014), Fiji International (2015), Mayakoba Golf Classic (2018), Sony Open in Hawaii (2019) and SMBC Singapore Open (2020).
