Phil Mickelson has won 45 events over the 30 years of his career on the PGA Tour. This tally includes six major titles- the Masters tournament in 2004, 2006 and 2010, the PGA Championship in 2005 and 2021, and the Open Championship in 2015.
Mickelson, who is now playing in the LIV Golf league, has had an impressive career overall with multiple titles across various courses, yet has not won a single U.S. Open title to date.

He claimed the U.S. Amateur Championship in 1990, the only USGA title throughout his career. Mickelson was also the first left-handed player to become the U.S. Amateur.
The LIV golfer has made 127 appearances in total at the major events since his debut in 1990. He played his first U.S. Open at the Medinah Country Club that year, making the event his first major appearance as a Tour professional.
Phil Mickelson made the cut at the U.S. Open on 26 occasions over the years, and his best outcome remains as a runner-up. He finished in the second and T2 place six times altogether - 1999, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2009, and 2013.

He came close to winning on a couple of occasions in 1995 and 2010 but settled for a tie for the fourth position both times. However, the 54-year-old golfer has failed to make the cut consecutively for the last three years at the U.S. Open.
Mickelson, currently playing at the LIV Golf Virginia, will be making his 34th appearance at the U.S. Open next week. The third major of the year is scheduled to take place at the Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania from June 12 to 15.
Phil Mickelson's five-year U.S. Open exemption ends this year
The six-time major winner received a five-year exemption to play at the U.S Open following his 2021 PGA Championship win. The PGA win also made him the oldest golfer in history to become a major Champion, at the age of 50. Phil Mickelson carded a total six-under par score, defeating runner-up Brooks Koepka and Louis Oosthuizen by two strokes.

His U.S. Open exemption will end this year. However, the 54-year-old golfer revealed the possibility of the 2025 U.S. Open being his last appearance at the Major.
During a press conference ahead of the LIV Golf Virginia tournament, Mickelson said,
"There’s a high likelihood that it will be [my last US Open], but I haven’t really thought about it too much."
He also said that he had not given much thought about making attempts to qualify for the major events in the future. Mickelson is currently in deep contention in the ongoing LIV event, as he finds himself at T2 after 14 holes of the final round.
